Lescol XL, a statin, is used to manage disorders of lipid metabolism and reduce cardiovascular risk.

• Hypercholesterolemia: lowers low‑density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol and total cholesterol.

• Fluvastatin inhibits the enzyme HMG‑CoA reductase, the rate‑limiting step in hepatic cholesterol synthesis.
