• Levetiracetam binds to the synaptic vesicle protein SV2A, a key regulator of neurotransmitter release. This interaction modulates synaptic vesicle exocytosis, decreasing neuronal excitability and limiting the propagation of seizure activity without directly affecting ion channels or GABA receptors.
