Levodopa/Carbidopa/Entacapon Al (Carbidopa, Entacapone, Levodopa)

Levodopa/Carbidopa/Entacapone is used in the management of Parkinsonian disorders and related motor complications.

• Early Parkinsonian symptoms: helps control tremor and bradykinesia in newly diagnosed patients.

• Levodopa is a dopamine precursor that crosses the blood‑brain barrier and is converted to dopamine, restoring deficient neurotransmission. Carbidopa inhibits peripheral aromatic L‑amino acid decarboxylase, preventing premature conversion of levodopa and increasing its central availability. Entacapone blocks catechol‑O‑methyltransferase (COMT), slowing levodopa metabolism and extending its plasma half‑life, thereby enhancing and stabilising dopaminergic stimulation.

Common Side Effects
