• Levofloxacin inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase (topoisomerase II) and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for DNA replication, transcription and repair. By stabilizing the enzyme‑DNA complex, it prevents the resealing of DNA strands, leading to bacterial cell death.
