Levohelm (Levothyroxine Sodium)

Levothyroxine sodium is a synthetic thyroid hormone used to replace deficient endogenous hormone in thyroid‑related disorders.

• Levothyroxine sodium is a synthetic analogue of endogenous thyroxine (T4). After oral absorption it is deiodinated to the active triiodothyronine (T3) in peripheral tissues, binds nuclear thyroid hormone receptors and modulates gene transcription that controls basal metabolism, growth and development, thereby normalizing systemic thyroid activity.

Adverse reactions may occur with levothyroxine therapy.
