Lidocain Egis (Lidocaine)

Lidocain Egis, a topical lidocaine preparation, is employed in several dermatologic and minor procedural settings.

• Minor skin procedures: provides local anesthesia to reduce procedural pain.
• Superficial burns: alleviates pain and discomfort from minor thermal injuries.
• Dermatologic itching: reduces itch associated with insect bites, allergic reactions or mild irritations.

• Lidocaine blocks voltage‑gated sodium channels on neuronal membranes, preventing the initiation and propagation of action potentials. By stabilizing the neuronal membrane, it inhibits nerve impulse conduction in the applied area, resulting in temporary loss of sensation and analgesia.

Lidocain Egis may cause local and systemic adverse reactions.

Common Side Effects

• Skin irritation: redness or mild burning at the application site.
• Pruritus: localized itching after use.
• Erythema: mild redness of the skin.
• Swelling: slight edema around the treated area.
