Lidocain-Egis (Lidocaine)

Lidocain-Egis is a topical local anesthetic used to block nerve transmission in the skin and superficial tissues.

• Skin procedures: provides rapid local anesthesia for minor surgical or diagnostic interventions.
• Minor injury pain: reduces pain from cuts, abrasions, or burns during first‑aid treatment.
• Neuropathic pain (topical): alleviates localized neuropathic discomfort such as post‑herpetic neuralgia when applied to the affected area.

• Lidocaine reversibly blocks voltage‑gated sodium channels in neuronal membranes, preventing the initiation and propagation of action potentials. By stabilizing the neuronal membrane, it inhibits the transmission of pain signals from peripheral nerve endings to the central nervous system, producing a localized loss of sensation without affecting consciousness.

Lidocain-Egis may cause a range of adverse reactions after topical application.

Common Side Effects

• Burning or stinging sensation at the application site.
• Redness or mild erythema of the skin.
• Itching or mild rash localized to the treated area.

Serious or Rare Side Effects

• Allergic reaction: hives, swelling, or difficulty breathing.
• Systemic toxicity: dizziness, seizures, or cardiac arrhythmia if absorbed in large amounts.
