Meteosim (Simeticone)

Meteosim (simeticone) is used to manage gastrointestinal gas‑related conditions.

• Simeticone acts as a surface‑active agent that lowers the surface tension of gas bubbles within the gastrointestinal lumen. By decreasing interfacial tension, the bubbles coalesce into larger bubbles that are more readily expelled through belching or flatulence, thereby reducing the amount of gas retained in the intestines. The compound is not absorbed systemically and therefore exerts its effect locally within the gut.
