Monofer is used to treat iron deficiency anemia by replenishing body iron stores.

• Ferric derisomaltose is a stable iron‑carbohydrate complex that, after intravenous administration, releases elemental iron in a controlled manner. The iron is taken up by reticuloendothelial cells, transferred to transferrin, and incorporated into developing red blood cells, thereby increasing hemoglobin synthesis and correcting iron deficiency while minimizing free‑iron release and oxidative stress.
