Novomix 50 Flexpen is an insulin analog that acts on the glucose regulation pathway in diabetes management.

• Type 1 diabetes mellitus: improves basal and prandial glycaemic control.
• Type 2 diabetes mellitus: provides mealtime insulin coverage alongside basal insulin.
• Gestational diabetes mellitus: assists in achieving target blood glucose levels when diet and oral agents are insufficient.

• Insulin aspart is a modified human insulin molecule that binds to insulin receptors on muscle, fat and liver cells. This binding activates the receptor’s tyrosine kinase activity, promoting glucose uptake, glycogen synthesis and inhibition of hepatic glucose production, resulting in rapid reduction of circulating blood glucose after meals.

Common Side Effects

• Hypoglycaemia: low blood glucose levels.
