Indications & Clinical Uses

Nurofen Cold & Flu combines an analgesic/anti‑inflammatory and a nasal decongestant to address multiple symptoms of upper respiratory infections.

  • Common cold: alleviates headache, fever and body aches while reducing nasal congestion.
  • Influenza: helps control fever and muscle pain and eases breathing difficulty caused by congested nasal passages.
  • Sinusitis: decreases sinus pressure and pain through combined anti‑inflammatory and decongestant actions.
  • Seasonal allergic rhinitis: provides temporary relief of nasal blockage and associated discomfort.
  • Upper respiratory tract infection: offers broad symptom relief for cough‑related discomfort.
  • Headache with nasal congestion: targets both pain and congestion in a single dose.

How It Works

  • Pseudoephedrine acts as an indirect sympathomimetic, stimulating alpha‑adrenergic receptors in the nasal mucosa to cause vasoconstriction and reduce edema. Ibuprofen inhibits cyclo‑oxygenase enzymes (COX‑1 and COX‑2), decreasing prostaglandin synthesis, which lowers inflammation, pain and fever. The combination provides simultaneous decongestion and analgesia/antipyresis.
