Indications & Clinical Uses

Nurofen Emplastru Medicamentos is an NSAID that acts on inflammatory pathways to provide analgesic relief.

  • Musculoskeletal pain: Reduces pain associated with strains, sprains and minor joint injuries.
  • Minor sports injuries: Alleviates discomfort from bruises and soft‑tissue trauma.

How It Works

  • Ibuprofen inhibits cyclo‑oxygenase (COX‑1 and COX‑2) enzymes, decreasing the synthesis of prostaglandins that mediate pain, fever and inflammation. By limiting prostaglandin production at the site of inflammation, the drug reduces peripheral sensitisation of nociceptors and provides analgesic and antipyretic effects.
