Indications & Clinical Uses

Ibuprofen acts on inflammatory pathways to provide analgesic, antipyretic and anti‑inflammatory effects.

  • Mild to moderate pain: alleviates headache, dental pain, musculoskeletal aches and dysmenorrhea.
  • Fever: lowers elevated body temperature in acute febrile states.
  • Inflammatory conditions: reduces swelling and pain in osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

How It Works

  • Ibuprofen inhibits cyclo‑oxygenase (COX‑1 and COX‑2) enzymes, decreasing the conversion of arachidonic acid to prostaglandins. This reduction in prostaglandin synthesis lowers inflammation, pain signalling and fever generation at sites of tissue injury.
