Ibuprofen acts on inflammatory pathways to provide analgesic and antipyretic effects.

  • Musculoskeletal pain: Helps relieve relief  of  muscle  and  joint  discomfort  associated  with  strain  or  overuse.
  • Arthritic inflammation: Reduces  inflammation  and  pain  in  osteo‑oste  arthritis  and  rheumatoid  arthritis.
  • Fever: Low  grade  fever  reduction  when  temperature  exceeds  38°C.

How It Works

  • Ibuprofen inhibits cyclo‑oxygenase (COX‑1 and COX‑2) enzymes, decreasing the synthesis of prostaglandins that mediate pain, inflammation and fever. This reduction in prostaglandin levels dampens peripheral nociceptor sensitisation and lowers the hypothalamic set‑point for body temperature.
