Nurtec ODT (Rimegepant Tablet) 75mg

Nurtec ODT is a CGRP receptor antagonist used to manage migraine attacks and prevent episodic migraines.

• Acute treatment of migraine with or without aura: Reduces the severity and duration of migraine attacks.
• Preventive treatment of episodic migraine: Helps to reduce the frequency of migraine episodes.
• Migraine with or without aura: Provides relief from migraine symptoms including headache, nausea, and sensitivity to light and sound.

• Nurtec ODT works by antagonizing the calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) receptor. CGRP is a protein involved in the transmission of pain signals and vasodilation. By blocking the CGRP receptor, Nurtec ODT helps to reduce the pain and other symptoms associated with migraines.

Nurtec ODT may cause various side effects, ranging from common to serious or rare.

Common Side Effects

• Nausea: A common gastrointestinal side effect.

• Indigestion: May cause dyspepsia or gastrointestinal discomfort.
• Urinary tract infection: A common side effect affecting the urinary system.

Serious or Rare Side Effects

• Kidney problems: Use with caution in patients with kidney problems.
• Allergic reactions: Discontinue use if signs of an allergic reaction occur.
• Store at room temperature: Keep in the original blister pack, protect from moisture.

Nurtec ODT may interact with other medications, potentially affecting its efficacy or safety.

Major Interactions (Avoid)

• Strong inhibitors of CYP3A4: Avoid concomitant use to prevent increased rimegepant exposure.
• Strong or moderate inducers of CYP3A: Avoid concomitant use to prevent reduced rimegepant efficacy.
• Potent inhibitors of P-gp: Avoid another dose within 48 hours to prevent increased rimegepant exposure.

Moderate Interactions (Monitor Closely)

• Moderate inhibitors of CYP3A4: Avoid another dose within 48 hours to prevent increased rimegepant exposure.
• Other migraine medications: Monitor for worsening of headache if used concomitantly.
