Indications & Clinical Uses

Olmesartan Medoxomil E Amlodipina Accord combines an ARB with a calcium‑channel blocker to address the renin‑angiotensin system and vascular tone pathways.

  • Hypertension: Improves blood pressure control when monotherapy is insufficient.
  • Hypertension with isolated systolic hypertension: Provides additional systolic pressure reduction.
  • Hypertension in patients with metabolic syndrome: Offers effective BP lowering with a favorable metabolic profile.

How It Works

  • Olmesartan medoxomil blocks the binding of angiotensin II to the AT1 receptor on vascular smooth‑muscle cells, preventing vasoconstriction and aldosterone release. Amlodipine inhibits calcium influx through L‑type channels in arterial smooth‑muscle, causing dose‑dependent vasodilation. The combined effect produces additive blood‑pressure reduction.
