Olmesartan Medoxomilo + Hidroclorotiazida Teva (Olmesartan Medoxomil, Hydrochlorothiazide)

Olmesartan medoxil combined with hydrochlorothiazide acts on the renin‑angiotensin‑aldosterone system to lower blood pressure.

• Hypertension: provides effective blood‑pressure reduction when monotherapy is insufficient.
• Hypertensive heart disease: helps reduce cardiac workload and risk of complications.
• Chronic kidney disease with hypertension: assists in slowing progression by controlling systemic pressure.

• Olmesartan medoxil selectively blocks the AT1 subtype of angiotensin II receptors, preventing vasoconstriction and aldosterone release. Hydrochlorothiazide increases urinary sodium and water excretion, lowering plasma volume. The combined actions produce additive reductions in systemic vascular resistance and blood pressure.

Adverse reactions may range from mild to severe and should be monitored during therapy.

• Electrolytes: check serum potassium and sodium levels, especially with diuretic use.

• Concomitant NSAIDs: use caution as they may reduce antihypertensive effect and affect kidney function.
• Gout: monitor uric acid, as thiazides can precipitate gout attacks.
