Olpinat (Olanzapine)

Olpinat is an atypical antipsychotic that acts on dopamine and serotonin pathways to manage serious mental health conditions.

• Schizophrenia: reduces psychotic symptoms such as delusions, hallucinations and thought disorder.
• Bipolar I disorder (manic episodes): helps control mood elevation, agitation and rapid speech.
• Maintenance therapy for schizophrenia or bipolar disorder: supports long‑term symptom stability and relapse prevention.

• Olanzapine works by antagonising multiple neurotransmitter receptors, chiefly dopamine D2 and serotonin 5‑HT2A receptors, while also affecting histamine H1, muscarinic and adrenergic sites. This broad receptor blockade modulates dopaminergic and serotonergic transmission, contributing to antipsychotic and mood‑stabilising effects.
