Omarit (Bilastine)

Bilastine is an antihistamine that acts on the histamine H1‑receptor pathway to relieve allergy‑related symptoms.

• Allergic rhinitis: reduces nasal congestion, itching and sneezing.
• Chronic spontaneous urticaria: lessens wheal formation and itching.
• Seasonal allergy: controls symptoms triggered by pollen and other seasonal allergens.

• Bilastine selectively blocks peripheral H1‑histamine receptors, preventing histamine from binding and activating the cascade that leads to vasodilation, increased vascular permeability, and sensory nerve stimulation. This antagonism reduces the typical signs of allergic reactions without significant central nervous system penetration.

Bilastine is generally well‑tolerated, but like all medicines it can cause adverse reactions.
