Omnimoxa Pf (Moxifloxacin Hydrochloride)

Omnimoxa Pf is a fluoroquinolone ophthalmic antibacterial that targets bacterial pathogens of the ocular surface.

• Bacterial conjunctivitis: reduces bacterial load and speeds the resolution of redness and discharge.
• Bacterial keratitis: penetrates corneal tissue to eradicate the infecting organisms and promote healing.
• Post‑surgical prophylaxis: applied after eye surgery to prevent bacterial contamination and infection.
• Acute bacterial blepharitis: diminishes bacterial colonisation on the eyelid margin.
• External ocular inflammation: helps control infection‑related inflammation.
• Contact lens‑associated keratitis: treats infection linked to contaminated lenses.

• Moxifloxacin inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for DNA replication, transcription and repair. By blocking these enzymes, the drug prevents bacterial cell division and leads to bacterial cell death, providing a broad‑spectrum antibacterial effect against Gram‑positive and Gram‑negative ocular pathogens.

Moxifloxacin ophthalmic solution may elicit local and systemic reactions.

Common Side Effects

• Stinging or burning sensation upon instillation.

Serious or Rare Side Effects

Omnimoxa Pf should be used only when prescribed.
