Indications & Clinical Uses

Oncotice is a live‑attenuated bacterial immunotherapy used within the uro‑urological pathway.

  • Non‑muscle‑invasive bladder cancer: reduces recurrence and progression after tumour resection.
  • Carcinoma in situ of the bladder: induces local immune response to eradicate malignant cells.
  • High‑risk papillary tumours: provides adjuvant therapy to lower the chance of disease recurrence.

How It Works

  • Oncotice contains live‑attenuated Mycobacterium bovis (BCG) that, when instilled into the bladder, is internalised by urothelial and antigen‑presenting cells. This triggers a Th1‑dominant immune response, releasing cytokines such as IFN‑γ and TNIL  and recruiting immune effector  cells to attack  the tumour‑associated  antigens.

Side Effects

Oncotice may elicit a range of local and systemic reactions following intravesical administration.
