Onsetrogen Mylan (Ondansetron)

Onsetrogen Mylan contains ondansetron, a medication that acts on the serotonergic pathway to control emesis.

• Chemotherapy‑induced nausea and vomiting: helps reduce the frequency and severity of acute and delayed episodes.

• Ondansetron selectively blocks the serotonin 5‑HT3 receptors located on vagal afferent nerves in the gastrointestinal tract and in the chemoreceptor trigger zone of the brain. By inhibiting this receptor, it prevents serotonin‑mediated stimulation of the vomiting centre, thereby reducing nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery.

Side effects reported with ondansetron are generally mild to moderate and vary with individual tolerance.
