Indications & Clinical Uses

Ophtha-Cur combines timolol maleate and latanoprost to treat conditions affecting ocular pressure regulation.

  • Primary open‑angle glaucoma: reduces intra‑ocular pressure to slow disease progression.
  • Ocular hypertension: lowers eye pressure to prevent conversion to glaucoma.
  • Post‑surgical ocular pressure control: maintains target pressure after glaucoma surgery.

How It Works

  • Timolol maleate blocks beta‑adrenergic receptors in the ciliary body, decreasing aqueous humor production, while latanoprost, a prostaglandin F2α analogue, increases uve‑uvea outflow by remodeling the extracellular matrix of the ocular tissues. The combined actions result in a net reduction of intra‑ocular pressure.
