• Phenazone acts as a non‑opioid analgesic by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes, which reduces prostaglandin synthesis and diminishes pain signaling. Lidocaine hydrochloride is a local anesthetic that blocks voltage‑gated sodium channels in peripheral nerve membranes, preventing the initiation and propagation of nerve impulses and producing rapid topical numbness in the ear canal.
