Oxazepam is a benzodiazepine that acts on the central nervous system to relieve anxiety‑related conditions.

• Oxazepam enhances the inhibitory action of the neurotransmitter gamma‑aminobutyric acid (GABA) at the GABA‑A receptor complex.
