Oxycort (Hydrocortisone, Oxytetracycline)

Oxycort is a combination dermatological preparation that addresses bacterial contamination and inflammation in skin disorders.

• Hydrocortisone exerts anti‑inflammatory effects by binding to intracellular glucocorticoid receptors, modulating gene transcription and suppressing pro‑inflammatory cytokines. Oxytetracycline, a broad‑spectrum tetracycline antibiotic, inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, preventing amino‑acid chain elongation and bacterial growth.

Adverse reactions to Oxycort are generally limited to the site of application.
