Indications & Clinical Uses

Palonosetron is a selective 5‑HT3 receptor antagonist used in the management of nausea and vomiting related to specific therapeutic pathways.

  • Chemotherapy‑induced nausea and vomiting (CINV): Provides prophylaxis of acute and delayed CINV in adult patients receiving highly or moderately emetogenic chemotherapy.
  • Post‑operative nausea and vomiting (PONV): Reduces the incidence of nausea and vomiting after surgical procedures requiring general anesthesia.
  • Radiotherapy‑induced nausea and vomiting: Helps mitigate the nausea and vomiting associated with radiation treatment of the abdomen or pelvis.
  • Anticipatory nausea and vomiting: Decreases the psychological anticipatory response in patients with a history of CINV.

How It Works
