Indications & Clinical Uses

  • Peg-ReliGrast 6mg is used to shorten the duration of neutropenia and reduce infection risk in patients receiving myelosuppressive chemotherapy. It is also used to increase survival in patients acutely exposed to high-dose radiation. Peg-ReliGrast 6mg supports white blood cell production during cancer treatment. It is indicated for patients with non-myeloid malignancies receiving chemotherapy associated with a significant risk of febrile neutropenia.

Side Effects

  • Peg-ReliGrast 6mg works by stimulating the bone marrow to produce more neutrophils, a type of white blood cell. This helps the body fight infections more effectively during periods of low blood cell counts. Patients may notice improved energy levels as their immune system recovers.

Precautions & Warnings

  • Store Peg-ReliGrast 6mg in the refrigerator between 2°C and 8°C. Protect from light and avoid freezing. Do not shake the pre-filled syringe. Keep out of reach of children. Dispose of used syringes in a sharps container as directed. Consult a healthcare provider before use if you have sickle cell disorders.

Avoid Interactions

  • Peg-ReliGrast 6mg may interact with other drugs that affect bone marrow function, such as chemotherapy or radiation therapy. Avoid using lithium unless directed, as it may enhance the effects of Peg-ReliGrast. No known interactions with common medications like pain relievers or antibiotics have been reported.
