Hidrasec Pre Dojcatá (Racecadotril)

Hidrasec Pre Dojcatá is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of acute diarrhea in various patient groups.

• Racecadotril acts as an inhibitor of the enzyme enkephalinase (neutral endopeptidase) in the intestinal mucosa. By blocking this enzyme, endogenous enkephalins are preserved, leading to activation of opioid receptors on enteric neurons. This reduces secretory activity of the intestinal epithelium, decreasing water and electrolyte loss without affecting intestinal motility, thereby alleviating the volume of diarrheal stools and helps restore normal stool consistency.

Like most antidiarrheal agents, Hidrasec Pre Dojcatá may cause adverse reactions, most of which are mild and transient.
