Uses of Phentermine Hydrochloride (Phentermine Hydrochloride):

Used to speed up weight loss in overweight people.

Product Introduction:

Phentermine is a medicine that, when used alongside exercise, changing your behavior, and eating fewer calories, can help you lose weight. It's meant for people who are very overweight or have health problems because of their weight. Losing weight and keeping it off can make you healthier by reducing the risks of things like heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and even living a shorter life.

We're not sure exactly how this medicine helps people lose weight. It might work by making you less hungry, making your body use more energy, or affecting certain parts of your brain. This medicine is like a "hunger-controller" and belongs to a group of drugs called "sympathomimetic amines."

Administration & Precautions For Phentermine Hydrochloride (Phentermine Hydrochloride):

Take this medicine as your doctor directs you. For most people, it's once a day, about an hour before breakfast or 1 to 2 hours after breakfast. But if your doctor thinks it's necessary, they might have you take a small amount up to three times a day. Follow your doctor's instructions carefully. Avoid taking it late in the day because it can make it hard to fall asleep (cause insomnia).

If you have capsules that release the medicine slowly, you usually take them once a day before breakfast or at least 10 to 14 hours before bedtime. Swallow the whole capsule. Don't crush or chew it because that can make all the medicine come out at once, which can cause more side effects.

If you have tablets that dissolve in your mouth, take them in the morning, with or without food. Dry your hands before handling the tablet. Put the tablet on your tongue until it melts, then swallow it with or without water.

How Phentermine Hydrochloride (Phentermine Hydrochloride) Works:

Phentermine impacts the brain's neurotransmitters and is believed to help with weight loss by reducing appetite. Although we're not sure about the exact mechanism, it falls into the category of drugs known as sympathomimetic amines, which are essentially stimulants.

How To Use Phentermine Hydrochloride (Phentermine Hydrochloride):

Follow your doctor's instructions precisely when taking phentermine. Read the prescription label and any provided guides carefully. Your doctor might adjust your dose at times. Typically, take the dose before breakfast or 1 to 2 hours after it, as instructed by your doctor.

3. While taking phentermine, make sure to eat a healthy diet and stick to regular exercise to get the best results from the medication.

5. Phentermine can be addictive, so don't misuse it. Selling or sharing this medicine is illegal and dangerous.
6. If you feel phentermine isn't working well or haven't lost at least 4 pounds in 4 weeks, contact your doctor promptly.

  • Phentermine hydrochloride is a sympathomimetic amine anorectic. Its chemical name is u03b1,u03b1,-dimethylphenethylamine hydrochloride. The structural formula is as follows:
  • Phentermine hydrochloride is a white, odorless, hygroscopic, crystalline powder which is soluble in water and lower alcohols, slightly soluble in chloroform and insoluble in ether.
  • Phentermine hydrochloride is available as a capsule and tablet containing 37.5 mg of phentermine hydrochloride (equivalent to 30 mg of phentermine base).
  • Phentermine hydrochloride capsules, USP contain the inactive ingredients: corn starch, D&C Red #33, FD&C Blue #1, gelatin, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate and titanium dioxide.
  • Phentermine hydrochloride tablets, USP contain the inactive ingredients: corn starch, colloidal silicon dioxide, FD&C blue #1, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, pharmaceutical glaze, stearic acid, and sucrose.
  • Phentermine is a sympathomimetic amine with pharmacologic activity similar to the prototype drugs of this class used in obesity, amphetamine (d- and d/l-amphetamine). Drugs of this class used in obesity are commonly known as u201canorecticsu201d or u201canorexigenics.u201d It has not been established that the primary action of such drugs in treating obesity is one of appetite suppression since other central nervous system actions, or metabolic effects, may also be involved.
  • Studies have not been performed with phentermine to determine the potential for carcinogenesis, mutagenesis or impairment of fertility.
  • In relatively short-term clinical trials, adult obese subjects instructed in dietary management and treated with u201canorecticu201d drugs lost more weight on the average than those treated with placebo and diet.
  • The magnitude of increased weight loss of drug-treated patients over placebo-treated patients is only a fraction of a pound a week. The rate of weight loss is greatest in the first weeks of therapy for both drug and placebo subjects and tends to decrease in succeeding weeks. The possible origins of the increased weight loss due to the various drug effects are not established. The amount of weight loss associated with the use of an u201canorecticu201d drug varies from trial to trial, and the increased weight loss appears to be related in part to variables other than the drugs prescribed, such as the physician-investigator, the population treated and the diet prescribed. Studies do not permit conclusions as to the relative importance of the drug and non-drug factors on weight loss.
  • The natural history of obesity is measured over several years, whereas the studies cited are restricted to a few weeksu2019 duration; thus, the total impact of drug-induced weight loss over that of diet alone must be considered clinically limited.
  • Available in capsules containing 37.5 mg phentermine hydrochloride (equivalent to 30 mg Phentermine base).
  • Phentermine hydrochloride capsules, USP 37.5 mg are supplied as bright blue opaque cap, white opaque body with black imprint u201cK 29u201d on both the cap and body, filled with powder.
