• Ketotifen acts as an H1‑histamine receptor antagonist and stabilizes mast cells in the conjunctival tissue. By blocking H1 receptors, it prevents histamine‑induced vasodilation and increased vascular permeability, while mast‑cell stabilization limits the release of inflammatory mediators such as prostaglandins and leukotrienes, thereby reducing ocular inflammation and itching.
